Pelvic Health

Overview

Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) occurs when the muscles or ligaments in the pelvic floor are stretched or become too weak to hold your organs in the correct position. When this happens, organs such as the bladder, rectum and uterus can bulge (prolapse) into the vagina and sometimes past the vaginal opening.

It is a leakage of urine associated with physical activities like coughing, sneezing, laughing, or lifting anything heavy.

It is the name of a group of urinary symptoms, such as urinary urgency, urinary frequency, getting up at night to urinate, and/or uncontrolled leakage of urine associated with the urge to void.

A urinary tract infection, or UTI, is when bacteria gets into your urinary tract- kidneys, bladder, or urethra.

Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is the most common cause of abnormal vaginal discharge. Additional symptoms of BV include vaginal odor and a burning sensation.

Lichen sclerosus is a chronic skin condition that primarily affects the genital and anal areas, although it can occur elsewhere on the body.

Interstitial cystitis (IC), also known as painful bladder syndrome, is a chronic condition characterized by inflammation and irritation of the bladder lining.
